Too Much Style, Not Enough Substance?

So I’ve been seeing a lot of hype around the Ballerina crossover in cheap bo6 bot lobby  and Warzone. While the skin definitely looks cool, I think people are getting a little too excited about what is, at the end of the day, another cosmetic.
I’ve been playing CoD since MW2 and I’ve seen dozens of these tie-ins—Rambo, Godzilla, Snoop Dogg, Attack on Titan, and now Ballerina. But let’s not forget: they don’t affect gameplay, and more importantly, they often distract from core issues. Like broken SBMM, unbalanced weapons, and terrible servers.
Instead of more movie skins, why not focus on fixing the basics? Or improving Zombies mode? Or innovating multiplayer? Don’t get me wrong, I like cosmetics. But I also want to feel like the game is growing, not just becoming a movie trailer generator.
I get that Ballerina is part of the John Wick universe and that makes her a certified badass. But how many casual CoD players even know that? It feels like these crossovers are made for marketing execs more than players.
I know I sound like a boomer yelling at clouds—but am I wrong? Give me more map variety or classic game modes before another skin that costs more than a Netflix subscription.
