The Buy Solari, often seen as the military arm of House Atreides, actually play a surprisingly crucial role in the economy of Dune: Awakening. Given that spice is the central economic driver of Arrakis, the Solari’s ability to secure spice fields and maintain control over extraction zones makes them essential to economic dominance. While they’re not the ones doing the refining or transporting, their military presence is what guarantees those activities can proceed unhindered.

In player-driven servers, Solari-controlled zones often become economic hubs. Traders and smugglers alike will pay Solari for protection or access. This creates a mini-economy of its own—complete with taxes, permits, and escort contracts. Some guilds have even formed symbiotic relationships, with Solari factions offering safe trade routes in exchange for a cut of profits or rare resources.

Their military logistics also feed the economy. Weapon manufacturing, armor trades, and vehicle requisitions create demand for specialized crafting. Players who align with or serve the Solari can capitalize on this by selling goods, fixing equipment, or managing supply lines. In short: Solari are more than just soldiers. They’re infrastructure.
